Michael Rose has been invited this year to take part in the
Sugar Project by organiser Lisa.This year The
Sugar Project is hoping to support Brighton’s women’s refuge;
Rise.
Rise is a charity which supports women, children and young people affected by domestic abuse in Brighton & Hove and across West Sussex… I’m sure you’ll all agree a truly worthy cause. To take part in the
sugar project 70 incredible tattooists and some of the most respected names in the tattoo community brought together with some up-and-coming artists of the future. Each artist is given a basic skull which they paint, sculpt and craft however their imagination drives them… the results are truly inspiring. The
Sugar Project skulls are then auctioned hourly on
Ebay over the period of a week starting March 1st 2011 and all profits are donated to that years chosen charity. The
Sugar Project was created in memory of Lisa’s father. Inspired by the Mexican festival “El Dia de los Muertos, to celebrate his life and give back to the hospice that cared for him before he died; with thanks to the participating artists, sponsors and those who generously bid, the Woking Hospice received nearly £6,000.
